Who we are
LISB (Leading Innovative Site Builders) is a sole proprietorship in Buncombe County, North Carolina. Email: hello@lisb.org. A mailing address is available on request. In this policy, "LISB", "we" and "us" mean that business.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us, plus what our server needs to keep the site safe:
- Waitlist: your name, your email and, if you add it, a short note about what you are planning. When you join, we email you a short confirmation, and our studio inbox gets a short notice with your first name and the start of your note.
- Start a project form (when we are taking new projects) and private project form: the answers you give, such as your name, email, phone number if you add one, business details and project details.
- Chat: what is described under "Your chat with LISB" below.
- Email you send us: if you email hello@lisb.org, your email address and what you write. See "Email you send us" below.
- Spam protection: a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, used to limit repeated form sends. Our web host also keeps standard server logs.
To see which pages are read, our own server counts page views: the page address and the date only. No cookies, no IP address and no visitor ID are saved, and no outside analytics, advertising or tracking tools are used. Browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted.
How we use it
To confirm your waitlist sign-up and reach you about a spot on the waitlist, reply to your request, prepare quotes, run your project, and keep the site secure. We never sell your information.
Cookies and browser storage
We use only essential cookies: they remember that you entered the password for a private preview link, keep LISB signed in to our admin, protect forms from misuse, and remember for 30 days that a browser has confirmed your private chat link with the 6-digit code we email you. Your browser also stores a few small settings on your device, such as your chat on that device and whether you have already seen the opening animation. There are no analytics or advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time, but private preview links will then ask for their password again, and your chat link will ask for a new code.
Sharing
We never sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that run the studio for us, and only as much as they need: our web and email host (hosting.com), whose mail server also sends the email from this site (we do not use a separate email marketing service), our payment processor, Stripe, which handles payments when you pay a deposit or invoice, and the AI-assisted tools described below, Grok Bot (SpaceXAI). We may also share information if the law requires it.
Your chat with LISB: what we save
When you chat with LISB, we save what you send so the conversation is there when you come back: your messages, the details you enter to start the chat (first name, plus an email address or mobile number), and the date and time of each message. Once you are a client, it also saves the images you share and the sketches you draw in your project chat. If you answer an in-chat question card, we save that too. The chat does not record audio. Audio files you email us are handled like any other email.
Where your chat is stored
Your chat is stored on our own server, in our own database. We do not use an outside chat service. Images and sketches you share in your project chat are kept in a private folder on our server, never on the public website. They open only in your confirmed chat (your private link plus the email code) or in our signed-in admin. Each image is re-saved when it arrives, which removes hidden photo data such as location. Your private link works like a key, so please don't share it.
How long we keep your information
Waitlist: while you are on the waitlist. Email us any time to be removed. Project requests sent by form: up to 24 months, then deleted unless we are working together. Chat: if we don't end up working together, we delete the chat about 24 months after your last message. If you become a client, we keep it for as long as we work together and up to 24 months after your project closes, so we can support your site. Images and sketches from your project chat are deleted 12 months after your project closes, or sooner if you ask. You can ask us to delete your chat sooner at any time. When a retention period ends, the chat, images and sketches are deleted automatically within a day. We keep invoices and signed agreements for legal or tax reasons.
Get a copy or delete your chat
To get a copy of your chat or have it deleted sooner, email hello@lisb.org and we'll take care of it. Deleted chats are removed from our live systems right away, and backup copies clear on their own within about 30 days. We may keep invoices, signed agreements, payment records and the messages tied to them where the law requires it, such as for tax or legal reasons.
AI-assisted tools
We use trusted AI-assisted tools throughout our work, including to help design, build, write, test and improve your site or app, and to summarize or organize your messages and files, and to view images you share so we understand what you are asking for. That means the provider of these tools, Grok Bot (SpaceXAI), processes that content for us when we use them. They are used only to deliver and support your project, and we never sell your content. A person at LISB reviews every reply before it reaches you, and reviews the work on your project the same way. Only LISB and the tools we use for your project can read your chat.
We also use an AI assistant (Grok Bot by SpaceXAI) to help maintain our website and servers. It may access your information only as needed for that work, and your information isn't used for anything else.
Email you send us
Messages sent to hello@lisb.org are forwarded to and read by our AI assistant, which summarizes them and drafts replies. A person at LISB reviews and approves every reply before it is sent. The assistant does not send replies on its own. To do this, the content of your email, including your email address, what you write and any attachments, is processed by the AI service provider.
If you would rather a person handle your messages without the AI assistant, or you would like your messages deleted, say so in an email to hello@lisb.org. Because email is forwarded automatically, the assistant will still see that message.
Your customers' data
If we build or maintain a site that collects your customers' information, it stays yours. We maintain your site without viewing your customers' data unless you ask us to fix something that needs it. We work with design-only access, so routine edits, updates and improvements never open your customer records. Sensitive fields, such as phone numbers, addresses and notes your customers send, are encrypted in the database. When we test changes, we use a staging copy filled with sample data, not real customer information. If a fix truly needs us to look at real records, we ask first and look only at what the fix needs.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
If something goes wrong
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access limits and regular updates. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will tell you without unreasonable delay, as North Carolina's Identity Theft Protection Act requires, and notify the North Carolina Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division and, where required, the consumer reporting agencies.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, including your chat, by emailing hello@lisb.org. We'll reply within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the effective date above when we do.
